Nintendo DSi has finally launched!

Nintendo DSi Lanuch

It’s here! It’s finally here! The Nintendo DSi has FINALLY come to North America. This internet-browsing, multimedia, picture-taking evolution is one of the greatest things that Nintendo has ever made… why? Because:

  1. It will compete with Sony’s PSP!
  2. It will compete with Apple’s iPod Touch! Mha ha ha ha ha ha!

Ok well… those are not the reasons… I mean it can but Nintendo does want that.

But Anyway… to celebrate, I will review the major features of the Nintendo DSi.

There are three main features: Nintendo DSi Camera, Nintendo DSi Sound, and Nintendo DSi Shop.

Nintendo DSi Camera

  • With Nintendo DSi Camera, you can not only view pictures but you can take pictures as well. There are two cameras: one between the hinge and one outside the the top.
  • You can play around with 11 lenses before taking a picture and 9 lenses after taking a picture.
  • You can view slide shows and place stickers to store them out. Your slide show can even dual screen.
  • You can even send pictures to your friends who also has a Nintendo DSi system or you can put them onto your computer and print them out or upload them to website such as Facebook or Windows Live.

Nintendo DSi Sound

  • With Nintendo DSi Sound, you can listen to your music and your recordings.
  • You can record your voice and play with it.
  • There are 12 filters that you can use to play with your recordings. You can even change the pitch of it.
  • You can listen and play with your music as well.
  • You can change the pitch of the music, use four different filters, or you can use your own recordings. You can even add sounds by pressing the L and R buttons.

Nintendo DSi Shop

  • With Nintendo DSi Shop, you can finally have the ability to download.
  • You can use Nintendo Points to download content such as games or applications. Nintendo Points can be find in two ways: Purchase a Nintendo Points Card from any retail store that sells Wii and Nintendo DS games, consoles, and accessories or Access Nintendo DSi Shop and use a Visa or MasterCard credit card to redeem Nintendo DSi Points.
  • Download the Nintendo DSi Browser to surf the web anywhere there’s a Wi-Fi hotspot or use your own router.
  • You can also connect to the Nintendo Zone (available at participating stores across Canada and US) to download demos and videos.
  • Until October 5, 2009, when you access Nintendo DSi Shop for the first time, you will receive 1000 Nintendo Points (see http://dsioffer.nintendo.com/ for details.)

There are many more features where that came from. And you can see them all on http://www.nintendodsi.com/ and http://www.nintendo.com/ds.

And, as promised, I have uploaded a video on YouTube (which I will do from now on) called "Nintendo DSi unboxing video". You can finally see it! (Sorry for the dark camera though but you can still be able to see it.) Click here to go to YouTube and watch it or watch it here.

Well I thought that was a pretty thorough review, and even though you gave me the run down in person, I dig seeing all the benefits put together here. I have to say the 2 cameras was the coolest feature, although it does seem a little much. Plus, pretty swanky with the unbox video- I wonder if you're going to let us know if you're still as excited with it as time goes by?
