Canadian price for Nintendo DSi may not be pricy after all

ebgamesdsipricesameasusasprice

WARNING: This is a Canadian-only post… the rest of the world can see it… it’s just that this only concerns Canada.

Hmm…

I was just searching EBGames.com to see if they have “Spectobs” in stock for my brother (turns out they did) and I had just found a pre-ordering section for the DSi.

Yes, it WILL come in black and blue…

Yes, it WILL be released with America at the same time…

But no, it WILL NOT have a price tag of $199.95. Instead it will be the same price as America… $169.99! And good riddance too!

That’s the last time I’m ever trusting Wikipedia again.

Oh ya and in case your wondering why my desktop has a different taskbar… It’s Windows 7.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/default.aspx

Don’t ask.

EDIT: Acaually it is $199.95.

Nintendo DS has sold over 100,000,000 (100 million) Nintendo DSes!!!

Be happy!

Nintendo has just announced that they have succeeded into selling 100 million Nintendo DSes on March 6, 2009!!! (This includes the Nintendo DS, the Nintendo DS lite, and the Nintendo DSi).

Since in 2004, Nintendo DS was the best-selling portable gaming system of the seventh generation console line. Over 100 million DSes have been sold and it had, has, and will have games for casual, midi-core, and hardcore gamers alike.

The Nintendo DS has two screens, a touchscreen, wireless capabilities, PictoChat, and the ability to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

The Nintendo DS lite (launched in 2006) was a revised version of the original DS. It has a slimmer design, brighter screens.

The Nintendo DSi (launched in 2008 in Japan and will be launched in April 5, 2009 for Canada, US, and Latin America) is an even revised version of the Nintendo DS lite. It has an even slimmer design, even brighter touchscreens, bigger screens, an SD Card slot, internal memory, two cameras, the ability to play music, the ability to download games and applications, the ability to have exclusive games, and advanced Wi-Fi and wireless capabilities such as using a web browser and syncing photos from your DSi to your Wii.

This is an exciting day for Nintendo and I’m excited as well!… You should be too!

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Your promises for new DS vs. the reality … revealed!

There are officially (as of Tuesday, March 10, 2009) 25 days (not counting today and the day of the Nintendo DSi launch) left until the Nintendo DSi is officially available at Canadian and American stores… and everyone is excited!

Well… not everyone. These people think that Nintendo hasn’t listened to them. Or they might think that gaming is bad (boo you, whoever thinks that) Well, I’m here to tell you that your wrong!… both of you (yes I'm talking to you gaming haters!)

… anyways…

Nintendo has listened to you. I will now show a list of all of your requests and, if your request didn’t come out on the DSi, I will try to point out the possible reasons (or real reasons) why it didn’t make the cut.

All right here we go:

Name of request:Answer:Reasons (if yes, what are they doing?):

1. Improved speakers

Yes

One of the main features of the DSi are improved speakers.

2. The ability to look at pictures

Yes

Not only can you look at pictures but you can also take pictures with the two built-in cameras included with your DSi.

3. The ability to listen to music

Yes

Yes you can listen to music… like an iPod!… ok well not really… but it’s getting there!

4. The ability to watch videos

Ye… No :(

You can even watch videos!… ok no you can’t but you might be in the future. I guess Nintendo didn’t think about putting it there.

5. Internal memory

Yes

Yes it does. All 256 MB of it.

6. The ability to use some sort of a removable memory digital device

Yes

SD Cards. There i said it.

7. Exclusive games for the console

Yes

Besides DSiWare, there will be DSi-exclusive retail games. THANK YOU NINTENDO!!! Looks like we might see “Mario Kart DSi”… yay!

8. Bigger screens

Yes

The main feature… BIGGER SCREENS!!!… well actually it’s 0.25 in. larger than the 3 in. screens on the DS and DS lite.

9. Online right out of the box

Yes

The only thing that let’s you go online is the DSi Shop… oh well. At least we get online right out of the box!

10. The ability to have two DS slots

No

And good thing too… cuz the final design would have been three millimetres thicker.

11. Better web browser

Yes

And it’s finally useful, faster, and better.

12. Digital Distribution

Yes

Nintendo Zone downloads, Applications, DSiWare… it’s all there!

13. Better games

Yes

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Pokémon Platinum, and C.O.R.E just to name a few.

Percentage of requests approved by Nintendo: 85%

So there you have it. Nintendo have passed the “Are you listening to us, Nintendo?” test by a long margin. However, I still wish that they could let you watch videos.
